Upcoming Show, Hidell Brooks Gallery in Charlotte, NC
I’ve been showing my work at Hidell Brooks since they opened in 1998. The original goal of the gallery was to exhibit artists who had rarely been shown in the Southeast and I certainly met that criterion. The owners, Katherine Hidell and Rebecca Brooks first saw my work at Hackett/Freedman Gallery in San Francisco and invited me to show my work with them in their inaugural year. I was living in Utah at the time and was pleased to begin showing my work “back East” after living in California and the Intermountain West for over fifteen years. I’ve never had any reason to regret the decision. Hidell Brooks has flourished and grown, always showing artists I was glad to be associated with.
I’ve kept very incomplete records, so I have no idea how often I’ve shown my work at Hidell Brooks Gallery, but this must be at least my tenth show with them. The show will open on April 3rd and run through the 27th. I’ll include some images below of paintings that will be in the show and I’ll follow up with another post later, once the show is hung, with some installations shots.
